SUNBIRD BANDITS FUND NEW 8th HOLE TEE BOX
This weekend, the SunBird Bandits fulfilled their commitment to underwrite the cost of a new tee box on the 8th hole by presenting a check to the officers of the SunBird Golf Club. The donation, which covers all of the direct costs for the construction of the newly enlarged, tiered tee box, comes from the proceeds of the 2024 and 2025 SunBird Bandits tournaments held each February.
The project, spearheaded by Kelly Davis, also included many volunteer hours of laying drainage pipes; transporting, leveling and compacting fill dirt; laying sod; pouring concrete; grooming the tee box; etc. Thanks also to Jeff Seaman, Greg Wilson and Dave White who were directly involved.
Instead of a ribbon cutting, both Kelly Davis, SBGC Vice President and Steve Seel, Bandits President, took inaugural tee shots after the check presentation.
The 100+ members of the Bandits are pleased to continue their long history of providing substantial financial support our golf course.
SBGC President Scott Stohr (center) accepts the check from Bandits (L to R) Duane Dub, Treasurer; Steve Seel, President; Dan Carrol and Ed Leonard, past officers.

![]() The “Rattlesnakes” is just one of several golfing groups available to our community for competition and camaraderie here in Sunbird. The Snakes play a modified Stableford golf format currently on Tuesday afternoons with tee times starting at 12:16. We normally have a season of games from November through March, and then the group hibernates during the summer season. Stableford is a golf format where points are assigned according to your stroke score for each hole. “Snakes” games, Hole-in-one pots, 7 progressive $ Rattler KPs (all Par 3’s) and a “Snake of the Season” are all games we like to include in the fun. A nominal entry fee of $10 is required each time you play and is used to award cash prizes and Golf Shop credits. Each tournament is flighted, and you play to your own Stableford goal. To become part of the fun (guys or gals), give us a call or text and have a good attitude. Playing in the Rattlesnakes is a good way to meet new friends and become active in our great community. There are no annual dues to be a Snake. Come play once or come play all season. It’s a great activity! Contact Dave White (425 359-9311) or Gary Hall (303 378-5576) for more information and how to join in the fun with the Rattlesnakes. |
