From the SBGC Board of Directors
As was presented in an eblast in late June, three members of the boards from the SunBird Golf Club and the HOA have continued to meet and assess opportunities regarding the future of the SunBird Golf Course. Options we’ve discussed include real estate impacts, memberships, talked with a golf course appraiser, a course management firm, and other golf courses and communities. There is plenty to think about and review how the golf course impacts our beautiful community today and in the future. As we continue discussions throughout the summer, we will be in a position to share the paths forward with all of SunBird in the fall. (08/06/21)

Recently, the SunBird Golf Club Board approached the SunBird HOA Board requesting a collaborative effort where the two organizations discuss and evaluate the future state of the SunBird Golf Course. With the recent events associated with the golf course pump failure, assessment to current golf members and donations from our amazing community, they are near the goal necessary to purchase and install the new pumps, which are on order and anticipated to be installed in August. The unfortunate failure of the pump, aging infrastructure, shrinking reserve funds, and reduced memberships, has caused the Golf Club Board concern regarding the financial state of the golf course and thus requested dialog with the HOA board. In the spirit of open communication within the SunBird community, both boards felt it was necessary to make everyone aware of these ongoing discussions. As new information develops, reports will be made to the community concerning these discussions and findings. (06/24/21)
